Meet our doctors
Dr. Gregory David Bower, DDS
Dr. Gregory Bower was born in Provo, Utah in 1976 and raised in Caldwell and Meridian, Idaho as the second of five boys in a close-knit, sports-oriented family. Athletics played a major role in his early life, and he attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah on a basketball scholarship directly out of high school. After one year of college, Dr. Bower served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Jamaica, an experience that shaped his commitment to service and community.
Upon returning home, Dr. Bower continued his education and basketball career at BYU–Idaho alongside his brother before transferring to Brigham Young University in Provo. He was accepted into the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 2000 and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003. Following dental school, Dr. Bower practiced in a private office in San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center before relocating to Porterville in 2004, where he has proudly served the community for over 20 years.
Dr. Bower was drawn to the beauty of the sequoias and the strong, faith-centered values of the Central Valley, and he is grateful to call this area home. He and his wife, Teresa, have six children and two grandchildren, and family remains at the center of his life. Outside the office, Dr. Bower enjoys reading and studying, hiking, mountain biking, and spending time with his family. He is deeply appreciative of his dedicated staff and the wonderful patients who trust him with their dental care, and he considers it a privilege to serve the Porterville community.
MEET Dr. KIM
Dr. Kim was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in the San Gabriel Valley, where he developed a strong work ethic and appreciation for community from an early age. He attended the University of California, San Diego from 2000 to 2004, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry with an emphasis in Molecular Biology. He went on to attend the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2008. That same year, Dr. Kim also received a Certificate in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, reflecting his commitment to both clinical excellence and community health.
Dr. Kim began practicing dentistry in Porterville in 2008 and has been serving the Central Valley ever since. In 2018, he joined Sequoia Valley Dental Group, where he is proud to work alongside a dedicated team in providing high-quality, compassionate dental care. He was also selected to participate in the Leadership Porterville Class of 2013, further demonstrating his commitment to the growth and well-being of the local community.
A lifelong believer in service, Dr. Kim has participated in dental mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, and Cambodia, and he hopes to continue working regularly in the mission field. He considers it an honor to care for his patients and is grateful for the trust they place in him and the opportunity to work alongside such an exceptional staff.
Dr. Kim met his wife, Judith, at the age of 11, and together they have three children. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys playing golf whenever possible and attending sporting events with family and friends. Family, service, and community remain central to Dr. Kim’s life and professional practice.

We understand that dental care can be an investment in your health. That’s why we accept a variety of PPO insurances (please note that we do not accept Medi-Cal or Covered California). To make dental care more accessible, we offer flexible payment plans with minimum monthly payments based on the treatment and balance owed. Our goal is to provide you with the care you need without financial stress.
